Project Description

Facing death amid nuclear armageddon, a group of strangers in a convenience store witness the reality of human nature and personal remorse.

The Last Day is a short film that explores the final, chaotic moments before a fictional nuclear holocaust told through the eyes of regular people, in a regular place, far from the reality that caused it. We follow several characters that are simply going their daily routines but, then, are suddenly faced with the knowledge that they will most likely die within the next twenty minutes. How would strangers react when there is little hope? The story is one of lawlessness, empathy, and emotional greed at its core.

At the beginning we follow Samantha, a recent college graduate, heading to her first, real job interview. A brief stop into a convenience store changes everything. She and many others must grapple with their life decisions and come to terms with it all slipping away.
